Dumped housing forms were never received

CAPE TOWN - Officials on Friday said housing subsidy application forms found dumped in Khayelitsha were never processed.

The completed documents, some of which had copies of identity documents attached, were found in a black bag in an open field earlier this week.
The City of Cape Town’s Ernest Sonnenberg said, “I am not ruling out that this might have been used for political gain, because the application dates on the forms are from 2005.

"Elections were held the following year, in March 2006.”

The Western Cape has a housing backlog dating back 20 years.
