South Africans were encouraged to go green on Thursday.
The appeal came from Cabinet ahead of the 17th conference of parties to the United Nations (UN) Climate Change Convention in Durban.
With 18 days to go to the COP17 conference South Africans were encouraged to play their part by wearing green in support of the conference.
President Jacob Zuma also called on the media to help in the campaign.
He asked journalists to mobilise South Africans to boost the green economy and reduce the country’s carbon footprint.
