Western Cape Human Settlement MEC Bonginkosi Madikizela met with aggrieved residents from Mandela Park.
Locals have accused the MEC of lying about housing delivery.
He once again reiterated to the residents that housing shortages in the province remains a challenge in the department.
The official said addressing this problem will not happen overnight.
Madikizela and a few of his officials gave feedback to local residents. The area has two housing projects which benefited more than 1 500 people.
However, residents said the location of these units was riddled with corruption. They asked the MEC to deal with the matter.
