Native club get together

South African Communist Party's (SACP) national chairperson Gwede Mantashe has cautioned that government should not put its faith in market forces to deliver services to the people.

His statement comes as service delivery protests plague the country.

Provincial and local government minister Sydney Mufamadi says there have been protests against poor levels of service delivery in 90% of the 136 municipalities that government has identified as needing urgent intervention.

Mantashe who participated in a discussion on service delivery protests convened by the Native Club in Tshwane has urged government to seek urgent solutions to the problems of the poor. - SABC
